There is something fishy going on here........

November 21, 22, 23, 24 2016

We decided to not take the 27 hour bus and ferry route to go to the Island of Flores.  Instead, from Lombok we flew back to the Bali airport and then caught a connecting flight to Labuan Bajo.

From there, we booked a short term (3 days/2 nights)  "liveaboard" diving trip in Komodo National Park with Wicked Divers.

During tidal shifts there is a massive flow of water between the Indian Ocean to the south and Pacific Ocean to the north through relatively narrow island channels.  The resulting strong currents of  nutrient rich water support the incredibly diverse and dense populations of fish and corals that Komodo and Rinca Islands are famous for.

(We cheated.  This Dragon was at the  Singapore Zoo.)

Underwater photos are a fun challenge.  85% of ours are out of focus.

At depth, the images lose colors in the red spectrum especially.  If we put the red filter on the camera we get some color back, but the camera has less light to process the image. (Above and below without and with red filter.)
