Kuta Bali

It was time to take a rest day, but fortunately there seems to be cultural events and temples all over the place in the island of Bali (which is +/- 80% Balinese Hindu).  So even our beach day had its "culture vulture" moments.

Breakfast
(Rice, noodles, chicken, fried shallots, and mung beans wrapped in paper.)

These small stands that sell pre-mixed gasoline for two-stroke motorcycles are very common in S.E. Asia (usually sold out of used plastic soada bottles). For some reason in and around Bali, empty Absolute Vodka bottles are the vessle of choice.
Lunch
Gado Gado is lightly sauted green vegetables with bean sprouts, an egg, tofu, and a rich, spicy peanut sauce.

The coffee is usually made from fine grounds, strong, unfiltered, and tasty.  Avocados are now very trendy to put into beverages here.  These are not Hass avocados, but a milder version.  It is good with a bit of chocolate sauce.
